Fortnite Ecosystem 43.00 Brings PCG and New MCP Tools to UEFN
Epic has released Fortnite Ecosystem 43.00 with editor-time PCG, new UEFN MCP capabilities and a production-ready quest Progression API. The changes apply to the Fortnite creator environment, not automatically to conventional Unreal Engine projects.
Epic's Fortnite Ecosystem version 43.00 introduces a substantial collection of creation features for Unreal Editor for Fortnite. In its November 1, 2026 announcement, Epic describes editor-time Procedural Content Generation, an expanded MCP toolset and a production-ready Progression API for creators building custom quests. The release turns several previously discussed plans into currently announced functionality within UEFN.
Procedural Content Generation is now available to UEFN creators as an editor workflow. The idea is to define rules for placing objects such as trees, structures or environmental details instead of arranging every instance manually. Epic also says compatible agents can create or modify PCG graphs through UEFN MCP. Developers should confirm the supported commands and permissions in the release documentation before relying on autonomous changes.
The updated MCP integration now covers several additional workflows. Profiling tools can work with Timing Insights, Verse Insights, Memory Snapshot and Spatial Profiler data. Sequencer integration is intended for camera and animation authoring. MetaSound tools support the creation and configuration of audio-related assets, while IK Retargeter support addresses transferring existing animation to custom characters.
These are editor-facing capabilities. They should not be interpreted as unlimited AI abilities inside a published game, nor as proof that a standard Unreal Engine desktop project has received every UEFN-specific command. Fortnite's publication, scripting and runtime environment remains distinct from a conventional packaged Windows game.
The Progression API is another notable change. Epic says creators can publish islands using custom quest systems with independent or linked objectives. Other version 43.00 items include experimental health and damage pipeline capabilities in Verse, experimental Gaussian splat import, USD file import and additional performance measurement options.
A useful first test would be a small UEFN island containing a PCG-generated forest, a simple quest and one repeatable performance scenario. Compare the generated content with manually placed equivalents. Confirm that the MCP tool modifies only the intended editor assets and that a published-session test behaves as expected. Back up the project before introducing broad graph changes.
Developers who use regular Unreal Engine can still study the underlying ideas, especially connecting a coding agent to editor operations and measuring results. However, compatibility must be established feature by feature rather than assumed from the shared engine branding.
The important distinction in this release is that Epic has described specific creator features as shipping in Fortnite Ecosystem 43.00. Earlier roadmap entries indicated intentions; this announcement concerns the UEFN features now included in that ecosystem version.
